Design

all'anticaall’antica-instuments are not precise copys of certain originals in museums or collections.
They are modern creations, but in the sense and spirit of the renaissance and early baroque era.
As patterns serve – apart from some good preserved original instruments and contemporary copies – paintings and prints of the time, and elements of architecture and art craft.
Folk instruments too will deliver interresting and valuable ideas for design and sound.
Important aspects of design, apart from correct acoustical funtion, are a well proportioned form of the single instrument as well as of the whole consort, and a well balanced, gentle handling.
For this, the feedback of musicans is very important for me!
Most of instruments are in modern pitch a=440 Hz; some instruments with an especially high authentic appeal, will be made in renaissance pitch at a=466 too.
