Schreipfeifen / Schryary
This instruments (mentioned as Rauschpfeifen too) were developed on the base of my shawms.
Despite their windcap, they are able to overblow just to the twelfth.
The sound is very loud and screaming (hence tha name), especially the smaller instruments.
They are open-air-instrumentst at is best, very suitable with bagpipesand percussion, for music of the middle ages and folk music.
Consort of schreipfeifen: small descant in g and f, descant in c, alto in f.
The descant in d with broad bell was builded for folk-musicians.
All instruments are in varnished maple.
