Zinken Cornetts
The curved cornetts are made in a traditional manner, with carving tools, gouge and knife, and covered with leather or parchment (only the small instruments).
As woods are available: maple, apple pear, Yew, checker tree, hornbeam cherry and plum.
Bore proportions and leather ornamentation are influenced by italian patterns about 1600.
Consort consisting of cornettino in d, cornett in a, alto cornett in g, tenor cornetts in d and c.
Alto in g, normal cornetts in a at 440 and 465 Hz.
The high-pitched cornetto meets the increasing need of a more authentic pitch. For its smaller size, it is more comfortable to hold and speaks very easy.
Tenor cornetts in d and c (with key).
Although the bores are the same, these instruments sounds quite different: lighter and brighter the smaller, darker and fuller the larger instrument.
Mute Cornetts / cornetti muti
Alto in f with key (after Prätorius), cornetti muti in g at 440 and 465 Hz, in a.
Straight cornetts
This cornetto diritto in high pitch was developed in close cooperation with William Dongois.
Its bright, direct sound is very suitable for music of the 16. century.
It is available in many different woods at 440, 465 and 490 Hz.
By reason of its relatively low cost and easy handling, the straight cornett is a good choice for beginners.
Student’s cornett
The cornet d’ étude originate from an idea of Robert Ischer, Lausanne.
It bases on a straight cornett in 490 Hz (a whole tone above modern pitch).
By reason of its small size and the narrower spaced, offset fingerholes, the handling is comfortable even for children of 10 – 12 years.
The mouthpiece may be adapted to each student carefully, wich suit his best.
A soft case of CASCADE is included in the price.
